Overview:

This project is created with Art Camp and Droga5. This 2D animation supports Welcome.US, a non-partisan, not-for-profit initiative dedicated to welcoming refugees — including nearly 80,000 people from Afghanistan. Narrated by Dr. Maya Angelou and directed by Santiago Carrasquilla, Be A Rainbow follows an Afghan family’s journey to the United States, told through their daughter’s memories of home and the events that led to their evacuation. The story centers on a simple metaphor from Dr. Angelou: the hopeful glow of rainbow light in the storm — a “rainbow in somebody’s cloud.”
